Course Objective
The aim of these courses is to provide a thorough understanding of the context of change generally and the actions required to “take the people with you” when making change.
Course Content
These courses cover the essential principles of cultural change, including an examination of some of the latest and most innovative guidance. They will consider the theoretical basis underlying these principles as well as their practical application. Topics covered will include:
- Comprehending the principal drivers for change
- Developing and achieving strategic vision
- Assessing the organisation’s readiness for change
- Organising for change using programmes and projects; the roles and responsibilities of senior management; the functions of the Programme Manager and the Project Managers
- Identifying, specifying, measuring and realising benefits from business transformation initiatives
- Undertaking stakeholder analysis and communication planning
- Managing risk in programmes and projects
- Understanding the role of culture as a capability that enables attainment of business goals
- Recognising the place of cultural change in a transformation initiative
- Examining the nature of culture, how it evolves and how it manifests itself
- Defining culture through understanding of the Primary Cultural Influencers
- Measuring and benchmarking organisational culture using a cultural audit
- Establishing a target (desired) culture based upon the achievement of goals and benefits
- Determining practical actions to shift the culture from the present to the desired state
- Understanding the value systems and beliefs of groups and individuals and how these create attitudes/mindsets that influence behaviours
